Celluon PicoPro Review

In the short time the Celluon PicoPro Projector has been on the market it has received very high marks and positive written reviews from customers.

What are people referring to when they describe this model as, “A technological breakthrough!”???

  • Infinite Focus – Never need to adjust the focus, the laser engine adjusts automatically. Changes angles and distances from the screen the focus adjusts automatically.
  • Silent – One of the most common complaints heard, “The fan is noisy!”, look at any group of customer reviews for any projector and you will find at least on person saying how noisy the fan is.

— Guess what? The Celluon PicoPro doesn’t have a fan!! No fan noise. Silent.

  • High contrast – This mini projector destroys not only other mini’s but almost all projectors with a contrast ratio of 80,000 to 1. This means when you are watching a movie or giving a presentation, black appears 80,000 times darker than white.

Below is a short review video from the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The video does a good job demonstrating the infinite focus feature.

Note: You will notice the image produced by the PicoPro in the video seems to “flicker” this is not the projector rather it’s due to the frame rate of the camera being used to record the video.

More ——> Below this first video is a second which better shows the image quality produced without the “flicker”.

Infinite focus, ultra quiet, superior contrast – more positives

  • High resolution – The source input has been digitally upgraded to 1920 x 720p over the standard 1280 x 720 for a typical 720p projector. While it’s not quite 1080p resolution the manufacturer did a fantastic job increasing the pixels and clarity.
  • HDMI Connectivity A to D – Share pictures, watch videos and movies, gaming consoles.
  • More Connectivity – Iphone and Andriod, tablets, laptops, desktop.
  • Portable and lightweight – Weighs only 7 ounces and is small enough to be carried in a pocket.
  • Power Source – Plug it into the wall or use the built in battery.

Note on battery life: When using the projector in the wireless mode the battery has a lifetime of 2 hours. When connected to HDMI the life of the battery is extended to 3 hours.

This brief review of the Celluon PicoPro Projector likely didn’t answer all the different questions people have on this model.

Any major concerns

At the top of the page we showed an image on how customers rate this model. The ratings are for the most part positive.

But still, some of these buyers have given the model low ratings (1 and 2-star).

So we want to point out any major concerns these customers may have bought up in their ratings and reviews.

As we said at the beginning of this review, this model has earned Amazon’s label as, the 2015 #1 new release in video projectors

But of course this doesn’t mean the model is without problems or complaint free. Let’s take a look at what people what dissatisfied buyers had to say:

The following is a compliant from a very FURIOUS!!! Customer. We want to show you this but after you read these remarks below (we don’t agree) be sure to also read the people who responded to this compliant:

Here are the response to the negative review above.

We tend to agreed with the responses above.

Our Conclusion

If you’re looking for a mini projector for under $400 in 2015 the Celluon PicoPro is one of the choices you should look at. This is a high contrast model with wireless capabilities.

It also provides the feature of automatic focusing and the quality of being ultra silent. The choice is up to you, this model has many features that you will not find in other models.

Im torn between 3 mini projectors. The Celluon PicoPro, the Asus 1 LED, and the RIF6 Cube. I wish I could have all three in front of me to compare but unfortunately thats not possible. Which one out of the three would you recommend? Which one had the best image? Best battery life?

Hi Dan, you must have been reading my mind! I have also been thinking which one of these is the best. They are all similarly priced. However, we have not yet had the chance to use and review the ASUS P1 LED Pico Projector but we have heard very positive words about this model.

The Celluon PicoPro vs RIF6 cube we are leaning slightly towards the Celluon model. I believe the picture is a tad better and we like the infinite focus feature and it’s ultra quiet. We like both models though.

The battery life on the Celluon is 2 hours when in the wireless mode and 3 hours when connected to HDMI. This is great battery life.

Hope our input helped. Have a great weekend.
