If you are considering paying this much ($1000- $1200) then you definitely need to check out what Epson offers. For the past four years Epson has dominated this price point ($1000) with their PoweLite 8350 model, which is still one of the most popular and best selling models on the market.

Viewing Experience and Features of the 3000

This projector puts out major brightness. Even in a room with the lights on and the shades up with the sun shining, the ambient light will not effect the image quality. The features and functionality of this new (2015) home theater projector are upgraded in many different ways compared to older Epson models. Here are a few examples:

  • 2D and 3D in full HD.
  • Built in Lens shift (horizontal and vertical) to make set-up and adjustments easy.
  • 7-built-color modes (Auto, Dynamic, Living Room, Natural, Cinema, 3D Dynamic, 3D Cinema) so you can find the perfect setting for any room environment.
  • Aspect ratio 16:9 widescreen.
  • And of course HDMI connectivity.

About the color modes mentioned above. When we first took the Epson Home Cinema 3000 out of the box and hooked it up to a Blu-Ray player, we were not impressed with the picture quality. But after reading though the manual (It comes on CD) and then fooling around with all the different settings the picture looked amazing. So don’t be disappointed when you first turn it on you need to adjust the settings. Guaranteed you will be impressed after find the right mode.

Epson Home Cinema 3000: Audio Speakers, or not

Epson Home Cinema 3000 1080p 3LCD reviewIf you missed it, above we showed you the overall star rating customers have given this model. Here it is again to the right. So far this is a pretty good rating and being so new 45 total ratings is a fairly good sample size. But we do want mention the one negative review this projector has received. We think this is very important for you to know.

There is no built in audio speakers!!! Gasp! OK, I understand why this would piss some people off. But please notice the image below. Not only in the graph below does it say there are no speakers but this is also clarified in the main product description. So why would a person buy it and then complain and give it a 1-star rating when it’s stated in the description?

This is beyond my understanding. But yes there are no built in speakers included with the  Epson Home Cinema 3000 Home Video Projector. But who buys a $1000 home theater projector and uses factory speakers? To read more

Conclusion on this 1080p model

The at the time of writing this review, the Epson Home Cinema 3000 Home Video Projector was on the market for 6 or so months. During this time it has received better than average reviews from satisfied customers. Actually, the score aggregated is 4.7 out of 5-stars. So this is much much better than an average score.

We agree with the Amazon customer ratings. There are indeed numerous great features and benefits provided by this model. The lens shift is great for fast and easy set-up, the brightness is stunning and the contrast (60,000:1 ratio) enhances the 1080p resolution viewing experience. You also get 2 HDMI ports and a 16:9 widescreen image. Again, it does not common with built in speaker but other than that this is a very impressive model. Most people I know hook up an external sound system rather than using factory speakers.

So yes, we do think it’s worth the asking price of $1200. If you would like to learn more about what customers have to say about Epson’s latest 1080p then visit here.

If the price f this model is a little too much there are more than a few good choices for less money. Here’s a list and information on what we think are the four best 1080p models for under $1000 in 2015. Also you may want to check out the Epson 8350 home cinema model.
