The Pros – why you should buy it

If you would rather not read about it, the guy in the video does a good job showing and explaining everything you need to know. You can really see the size difference as he compares it to other models.

Skim down to to our listed Pros & Cons if you need further clarification and Info!!!

Portable and compact

If your presentations are always made in the same room then this quality may not be so important to you. But if you need something to take with you from place to place then you will (or should) appreciate the  dimensions of the Epson PowerLite 1761W model.

It’s not quite small enough to be categorized as a “mini projector” but it’s significantly smaller and lighter then the majority of models on the market. And it crushes any mini projector in the same price range on the features it provides

It comes in at a trim, lightweight 3.7 pounds and 2.1 inches thin. The full dimensions in inches (L x W x H) are:  11.5″ x 8.3″ x 2.1″. These dimensions are similar to the Casio XJ-A246.

What thin and compact looks like

Wireless hooks you up

The Epson PowerLite 1761W is a wireless projector. The wireless capability is without a doubt the most talked about feature of this model, receiving very high praise from both teachers using it in classrooms and business people using it in presentations.

The connectivity is very nice and reliable. It uses the iProjection app, which allows a connection to be made to virtually any HDMI external device. Connection to iPhone, Android, PC, MAC.  If you wanted, it will also connect to Blu-Ray and gaming consoles. The wireless connect is outstanding.

Epson 3LCD Projector technology brightnessDoes it need total darkness

Epson built their 3LCD, 3-Chip technology into the Powerlite 1761W projector. The presence of this technology provides a huge advantage over many of the competing brands in the “image brightness” category.

“No, this projector doesn’t need the room dark to produce a bright on screen images for presentations.”. In fact, it will work perfectly fine in a normally lit room.

When searching for the right projector (one that will function in a well-lit room). You need to pay careful attention to the number of  “LUMENS” listed in the product description.

Pay attention to whether the description gives you information only on the number of lumens or is more specific and provides information separately on the number of lumens for both color brightness and white brightness. You want to know the number for both and both should be over 2000 lumens.

The higher the better.  The Epson PowerLite 1761W wireless multimedia projector rates at 2600 lumens for both color and white brightness.

Is resolution important for presentations

Yes of course it’s important. The people in your audience need to be able to read the numbers in your graphs and charts, right? Right?

However, you do not need a model with 1080p high resolution (Full HD) for presentations to be readable. Full-HD is what you would want to buy if you were shopping for a home theater projector. But if you want to pay an arm and a leg for a Full HD 1080p projector to make presentations with, then go for it!!!

The Epson PowerLite 1761W is rated at a WXGA resolution. This is actually not very far Full HD.

Epson Carrying Case

Just an extra. This Epson model comes with a nice little carrying case. If you are a person who already carries laptop bag, this projector is so small its probably going to fit inside one of the zippers of your laptop bad as well.

Anything you need to consider before buying???

Epson 1761W review

As you can see on the right, many customers are satisfied with their purchase and have also given this model a high rating. But no product is perfect, right?

The first thing we want to say, the wireless set-up on the Epson PowerLite 1761W works great but if you don’t need wireless capabilities then don’t pay for this extra. There are many projectors on the market that provide similar quality on the other features but are missing the wireless feature. These will save you money.

To tell you the truth, this model isn’t perfect but at the same time the few complaints we do hear are somewhat petty and also contradict the same features that the majority have praised.
